1)The greatest asset of any service company is their consumers. Healthy relationship with the consumers is of utmost importance in today's competitive & open access world in the field of Electricity Distribution. The first point of contact with the consumers of a distribution utility like BEST is the Field Staff & Administrative Staff of Customer Care, Energy Audit, Vigilance, Legal, Audit & Account Departments. The behaviour of this staff with consumers at cash collection, compliances windows etc, forms the opinion/impression about the organization.

2)Keeping the above in mind a full day training programme has been arranged every fortnight by CGRF, BEST for the Field Staff & Administrative Staff of mainly Customer Care & above mentioned departments. The theme of this training program is Grahak Devo Bhavaha. So far 27 batches of total 1147 participants have been imparted training. During the training, participants are appraised of Electricity Act 2003 & thereby MERC regulations viz. MERC Electricity Supply Code and Other Conditions of Supply Regulations 2005, MERC CGRF & E.O Regulations 2006, MERC Standard of Performance of Distribution licensees, period of giving electric supply & determination of Compensation, Regulations 2005 and Electricity Consumer's Rights Statement, apart from main emphasis on how the above staff should behave with the consumers, on the filed & in the office while coming in contact with them.

3)The next training programme is scheduled on 10-06-2011 at Conference Hall, Electric House, Colaba from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm.

4)  Half day Promotaional Training Programme for Sub-Engineers of Electric Supply Branch regarding Electricity Act, 2003 and MERC Regulation for Standard of Performance (SOP) was arranged on 5/3/2009 at Recruitment Hall, BEST Mumbai Central Depot.  The faculty of training programme was Shri. S.P.Goswami, Member BEST, CGR Forum.

5)  Half day Promotaional Training Programme for Sub-Engineers of Electric Supply Branch regarding Electricity Act, 2003 and MERC Regulation for Standard of Performance (SOP) is scheduled on 19/3/2009 at Recruitment Hall, BEST Mumbai Central Depot.  The faculty of the said training programme will be Shri. S.P.Goswami, Member BEST, CGR Forum.

6)As directed by DGM(ES) vide his noting in MIS Report of CGRF for the month Nov-2009 a meeting was held on 20/1/2010 in MERC Hall with representatives from Legal Dept, Customer Care Depts, Energy Audit & Vigilance Dept to discuss the issues pertaining to handling of cases in CGR Forum. The meeting was also addressed by CERC, CECC, Chairman CGRF & Member (CPO) CGRF.
